Mr. James Albert Hodges

Mr. James Albert Hodges age 86 of 2658 Brushy Fork Road, Cana, VA widower of Mrs.. Johnnie Clio Creamer Hodges passed away at his home on January 31, 2014. He was born March 13, 1927 in Surry County, NC to the late Virgil Raymond Hodges and Hallie Susan Thompson Hodges. He was retired from High Point Woodworking and attended the New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law; Betty E, Hodges of the home, Charlotte M. Hodges Mayes and Lacy, Cana, VA, Karen Emilie Bowman and David, Fancy Gap, VA, two sons; Ivan Oral Hodges and Ennis A Hodges both of Lowgap; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister and a brother-in-law; Velda M. Simmons and Alfred, Booneville. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a son, Eric S. Hodges and two sisters, Bertie Johnson and Etheleen Craver. Gravesides services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Old State Road Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Rev. Kevin Wilson. The family will receive friends 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home.
