Mr. James "Whick" Edwin Holt

Mr. James “Whick” Edwin Holt, age 77 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on April 13, 1939 to the late Richard S. Holt and Audrey Gray Holt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rakes Holt; paternal grandparents, Jim Holt and Bertha Holt; and maternal grandparents, Edwin C. Gray and Delores Gray.
“Whick” is survived by his sister, Christie Holt of Stuart; two daughters, Rhonda Hammond and husband, Jerry of Patrick Springs and Lynda L. Nichols of Martinsville; grandchildren, Tyler Mize, Andrew Mize, and Lindsey Nichols; great granddaughter, Kendall Mize; and a nephew, Steven Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm in Patrick Memorial Gardens with Pastor David Heath officiating. Jerry Hammond, Philip Holt, Bill Beasley, Tyler Mize, Andrew Mize, and Jimmy Odell will be serving as pallbearers with Jerry Goins serving as an honorary pallbearer.
