Mr. James Forister Hooker, age 84 of Lawsonville, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart, Virginia. He was born in Patrick County on October 4, 1930 to the late James Merritt Hooker and Dorothy Puckett Hooker. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by three sisters, Eula Mae Hooker Flinchum, Carlene Hooker Bullins and Rebecca Ann Hooker Flinchum; a brother, Clifford Hooker; two nephews, Tommy Hooker and Ken Pyrtle; and one niece, Tina Pyrtle Duggins. He had been a member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 60 years.
Mr. Hooker is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Dorothy Inez Bullins Hooker of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Cindy Hooker, Chris and Jordan Hooker, all of Lawsonville; four grandchildren, Brandon Hooker, Courtney Hooker, Logan Hooker and Bentley Hooker; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Fred and Lillian Hooker, Gurney Hooker, all of Lawsonville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Dawson and Rev. Mike Sands officiating. Burial will follow in Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
