Mr. James Carrol Martin

Mr. James Carrol Martin, 55 of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Iredell County on June 28, 1960. He served in the U. S. Army and worked in construction. He is survived by his sons, Jed and Zack Martin; his parents, Carol Smith and John Martin, Sr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Pamela "Susie" and Ernest James; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff Martin, John Martin, Jr. Jonathan and Karen Martin and Shawn Martin. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a son, James Lee "Little Jim" Martin. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Welcome Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 PM on Friday at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial be made to Moody Funeral Home, PO Box 1288, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 to assist with the funeral expenses.
