Mr. James Lester Niten, Sr

Mr. James Lester Niten, Sr., age 90, of Romney, WV passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Romney. Mr. Niten was born in Patrick County on October 28, 1923 to John Aaron and Elitha Barnard Niten. He proudly served our county in the United States Army during WWII and was a well-known sales representative. Surviving are many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Niten was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Alexander Carothers Niten; by his son, James "Jimmy" Niten, Jr.; a sister, Rosetta N. Lawson and brothers, Otto Niten, Lawrence Niten, Lenon Niten, Bonnell Niten and Boyer Niten. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy by Rev. Buford Jessup. Burial will follow in Barnard Family Cemetery with military honors by Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at noon.
