Mr. James Poole

Mr. James Poole, 67 of Mt. Airy passed away at his home Saturday, March 24, 2012. He was born in Surry County on April 11, 1944 to the late Omar Fred and Daisy Bowden Poole Inman. Mr. Poole retired as owner operator of 89 Truck Service; enjoyed gardening and was an avid beagle breeder. Mr. Poole is survived by his wife, Kathy Spencer Poole of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Greg Goings of Mt. Airy, Ann and Marty Dowdy of Pulaski; a son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Zella Poole of McLeansville, NC; grandchildren, Jared Goings, Jordan Goings, Arizona Poole, Katlyn Pool, Lisa Brooks and husband, Chris; sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Junior Edwards of Ennice, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Kim Inman of Mt. Airy, Richard Poole of Lowgap, John Cecil and Cindy Inman of Lowgap; foster sister, Wilda Tolbert of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Poole was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Inman Vaughn and a foster brother, Swanson Tolbert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 26, 2012 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Hal Finney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where the body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
