Mr. James Leroy Rippey

Mr. James Leroy Rippey, age 75 of Fancy Gap, passed away Sunday, November 09, 2014 at Twin County Hospital. Mr. Rippey was born in Surry County on June 23, 1939 to Ernest Lester and Maggie Mae Amburn Rippey. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Rippey Motteseard and husband Joe of Winston-Salem; nephews, Billy Evans and Richard Evans; a sister-in-law, Anita Felts of Galax and special friend, Jim Davis also of Galax. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Edward Bowman. Burial will follow in Skyview-Webb cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy. Mr. Rippey will lie in state at the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
