Mr. James Maury Roberson

Mr. James Maury Roberson, age 85 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Patrick County on July 7, 1928 to the late John W. and Audrey Reynolds Roberson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberson was preceded in death by his step-mother, Crystal Fain Roberson, and two brothers, Gilmer C. Roberson and Murray H. Roberson, Sr. He had retired from DuPont, had been a member of Horsepasture Christian Church and was currently a member of Stuart Presbyterian Church. He was devoted to the My Friends Closet Mission of the Stuart Presbyterian Church, and was a longtime and dedicated blood donor.
Mr. Roberson is survived by his wife of 65 years, Willodean Webb Roberson of the home; one daughter, Wanda and Steve Bass of Danville; one son, Randall Maury Roberson of Stuart and Bonnylee Witt; three grandsons, Ryan Dalton, Dustin Bass and Tyler Bass; two great-grandsons, Dylan Tate and Phoenix Bass; three brothers, Ray W. Roberson, Frankie Roberson and Johnnie B. Roberson, all of Stuart; and two sisters, Shirley Trent and Charlene Williams, both of Stuart; and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Danny Redman and Rev. Dr. Bucky Hunsicker officiating. Entombment will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
