Mr. James Ronnie Willard

Mr. James Ronnie Willard, 62 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at Northern Hospital. Mr. Willard was born in Surry County on May 1, 1951 to James Melvin and Dorothy Hicks Willard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Mr. Willard was a member of New Venture Baptist Church. Surviving are his devoted wife, Judy Mae Semones Willard of the home; daughters, Angela Willard and Carrie Hawks both of Mt. Airy; grandsons, Samuel Keith Hawks, II and Austin Tyler "Ty Boy" Mitchell; a sister, Joyce Ann Richardson of Mt. Airy; special nieces and nephews, Ann and Steve Swain and John and Mary Richardson; several other nieces and nephews and a special friend R. J. Wilhite. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willard was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Melvin Willard and by a nephew Terry Mills. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2014 at New Venture Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Thomas and Rev. Jason Thomas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Venture Baptist Church 228 Northeast Pine St. Mount Airy, NC 27030.
