Mr. Jasper Benjamin "J.B." Brindle, age 77, of Pilot Mountain formerly of Dobson, NC passed away on Tuesday morning January 14, 2014 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Surry County on May 12, 1936 to the late Jasper Elmer and Stella Etta Cave Brindle. He was the owner operator of Village Market in Dobson; he was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Coleman Brindle. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Lessie Atkins Brindle of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law Sharon Kaye and Rickie Mabe of Dobson, Tami Gaye and Tommy Ledford of Dobson; three grandchildren Lisa Marie and Rev. Will Eads of King, Benjamin Ray Ledford and fiancée Erin Dollyhigh of Mt. Airy, Dustin Beau Ledford of Dobson; one great grandson Sam Dollyhigh of Mt. Airy; three sisters and brothers-in-law Josephine and Fred Goins of Mt. Airy, Lou Jean and Bernard Jackson of Elkin, Katye and Leonard Simpson of Elkin; two brothers and sisters-in-law Rev. Van and Faye Brindle of Dobson, Jackie and Susan Brindle of Matthews; special nephews Chad and Brad Brindle and their families and children (he loved you like his own), and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday January 16, 2014 at Salem Fork Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Dan Merritt will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Salem Fork Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, the time of his service. In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to make donations to the Foothills Food Pantry PO Box 1065 Dobson, NC 27017 ( J.B. loved serving the community as their grocer and friend.) The family would like to thank the caring staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County Staff, his family, church family, friends and neighbors, and a special friend Belinda Wilmoth Draughn for the love and care given to our family.
