Mr. Jerry Morris Payne

Mr. Jerry Morris Payne, age 70, of Dobson a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at his home. He was born in Forsyth Co. on June 19, 1946 to the late Robert Carlie Payne and the late Lillie Mae Branch Payne Barrett. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son; sister Sarah Boyd, two half-brothers Charlie Payne and Wayne Payne. Surviving is his loving wife Edith Simpson Payne of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law Andy and LeEmma Payne of Whiteville, NC, Jamie Payne of Dobson; three grandchildren Brandon Payne, Andrea Payne, Haylee Tompkins; two sisters and brothers-in-law Linda and Jerry Kidd of Ararat, NC, Donna and Josh Fariss of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law CL and Kathy Payne of Dobson; three half-brothers and half-sisters-in-law Columbus "Lum" and Betty Payne of Boonville, Frankie and Thelma Payne of Ararat, NC, JC and Linda Payne of High Point; nineteen nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday December 5, 2016 at New Home Church of Christ with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Brother Tim Smith and Rev. Joe Atkins will conduct the services. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie in state 30 min. before the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
