Mr. Jerry Lawrence Sapp Sr.

Mr. Jerry L. Sapp Sr., age 69, of Mount Airy passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy. Mr. Sapp was born January 28, 1946 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Henry Lawrence and Frances Clayton Sapp. He was retired from the shipping and receiving department at Kingsdown, and was a volunteer for The Disabled American Veterans and the Meals on Wheels programs. He was also a member of Beulahland Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sapp was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Sapp. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Jerry L. and Greta Sapp Jr. of Albermarle NC.; grandsons, Gregory Lawrence Sapp of Burlington NC and Skyler Allen Sapp of Mendenhall Mississippi.; sisters and brother-in-law, Jenny Walker of Yanceyville, NC, and Brunell and Jack Moody of Durham NC.; brothers and sisters-in-law; Robert and Diana Sapp of Liberty, SC and Henry and Lynn Sapp Jr. of Easley SC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 1-2 PM at Beulahland Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Brother Anthony Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 767 West Lebanon Street, Mount Airy NC 27030 or to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 309, Boonville NC 27011.
