Mr. Joe Anthony Hinton

Mr. Joe Anthony Hinton, age 72, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 peacefully in his cherished home. Mr. Hinton was born January 5, 1943 in Guilford County, North Carolina to the late Jacob A. and Lucille T. Hinton.
Mr. Hinton was a member of Salem Fork Christian Church, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Elkin Masonic Lodge. He graduated in 1962 from the Durham Institute of Barbering, after which he was the owner and operator of Hinton’s Barber Shop for 33 years. He leaves behind many loyal customers who were also dear friends.
Mr. Hinton is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Hinton and Bob Kaszowski of Dobson; daughter Rebekah Chandler of Greensboro; sons, Dwayne Hinton and wife Michele of Reidsville, Todd Hinton of Reidsville, and Jacob Hinton of Dobson; sisters Monte Tickle of Gibsonville and Mary Hinton of McCleansville. He was preceded in death by brothers Jimmy, Hal, and George Hinton, of Gibsonville. He leaves behind many grandchildren, Logan Sweatt, Joah Hinton, Cooper Kaszowski, Brittany Hinton, Andrew Glidewell, Dakota Hinton, Dustin Hinton, Candace Dodson, Haston Cooke, and Harrison Cooke; great grandchildren Greyson Crumpton, Ryan Hinton, Nash and Laci Dodson, and many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Salem Fork Christian Church in Dobson. The memorial will follow at 3:00 PM at the church with Reverend Austin Caviness officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Vallley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, suite 200, Mount Airy NC 27030; the Elkin Masonic Lodge, PO Box 44, Elkin, NC 28621; or the youth of Salem Fork Christian Church, C/O Joey White, 255 Twin Oaks Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.The family will also receive friends at his daughters residence, Kim Hinton Kaszowski, 223 Crutchfield Street, Dobson NC
