Mr. Joe Frank Nations

Mr. Joe Frank Nations, 75, of Mt. Airy passed away peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on December 3, 1939 to the late, John Robert Nations, Sr. and Lenora Phoeba Wright. Mr. Nations was a retired Registered Respiratory Therapist and was a member and deacon of New Life Baptist Church. He loved working in his yard, reading and traveling. Mr. Nations proudly served our country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ida Jarvis Nations of the home; sister, Marjorie Lucille Duncan of Winston Salem; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Robert Nations, Jr., of Dobson, Grady Monroe Nations of Hendersonville, TN, Bruce Wayne Nations and Judy , Polly Nations all of Mt. Airy; his mother-in-law, Mary Faye Lowe Jarvis of the home; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nations was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Frank Nations, Jr., and Robert Blair Nations; a sister, Bertha Lenora Cox; a brother, William Lamont Nations; a sister-in-law, Fannie Nations; his father-in-law, Thurmond Jarvis. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church with the Rev. Gray Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in the New Life Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mary Nations 3562 Haystack Rd., Mt.
