Mr. Joe Henry Simmons

Mr. Joe Henry Simmons, age 71 of Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his home. Mr. Simmons was born in Stokes County on March 18, 1943 to Inez Franklin Simmons and the late Edgar Gaylon Simmons. He was a loving husband, and family man. He was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Caldwell Simmons; sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Henry Snow, Joe Henry Simmons, Jr. (Marcia), Jason Eric Ferguson, Lequan Simmons, Devontia Simmons; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters and brother-in-law, Marie Ceasar, Geraldine Moore, Judy Travis, Agnes Rawley, Mary Rawley (Charles), Louise Flippen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gid Edgar Simmons (Cathy), Lester Grady Simmons (Janice); Many nieces and nephews; aunts, Katheryn Valentine and Maxine Hughes; uncle, William Maston Simmons; host of extended family and friends. In addition to his father, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Simmons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Simmons Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Carl Morgan and Elder Robert Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Simmons Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
