Mr. Joey Allen Gammons

Mr. Joey Allen Gammons, age 47 of Axton, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born in Martinsville on December 19, 1964, and was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward Gammons. He attended Trinity Baptist Church and was an automobile body frame specialist. He was well known as a local and regional musician and entertainer.
Mr. Gammons is survived by his mother, Betty "Evelean" Lawson Gammons of Martinsville; his fiancé, Teresa Edwards of Axton; a sister, Lisa Gammons Rogers and her husband, Howard, of Lawsonville, North Carolina; and a niece and nephew, Meagan and Dillon Rogers.
Funeral services for Mr. Gammons will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Tommy Nichols officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joey Gammons Memorial Fund, P.O.
