Mr. John Calvin Vipperman

Mr. John Calvin Vipperman, age 87 of Spencer, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on November 4, 1924 to the late Posey Elmer "P.E." Vipperman and Laura Underwood Vipperman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vipperman was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Williams Vipperman; two sisters, Elva Fain and Dorothy Lyons; and four brothers, Charlie, Raymond, Herman and Leon Vipperman. He attended New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church, had served in the United States Army during World War II, and had been a television and appliance repairman.
Mr. Vipperman is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Dianna Vipperman of Spencer, and Philip and Sheila Vipperman of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Sheila Vipperman, Amy Vipperman-Bruckmueller, Scott Vipperman and Patrick Vipperman; three sisters, Nannie Ruth Terry of Meadows of Dan, Ann Kate Roberts of Spencer and Mary Boyd of Tallahassee, Florida; and two brothers, P.E. Vipperman, Jr. of Stuart and Warren Vipperman of Ridgeway.
Funeral services for Mr. Vipperman will be held Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Alan Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with a flag presentation by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
