Mr. Johnny Garfield Harris

Mr. Johnny Garfield Harris, age 77, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Mr. Harris was born in Surry County on January 11, 1937 to Major and Emma Rose Todd Harris. He was retired from Bassett Furniture Company and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. Surviving are his loving wife, Louise Creed Harris of the home; a step-daughter, Lisa Key and husband Teddy of Lowgap; a step-son, Jimmy Davis and wife Reneta of Lexington; a grandchild, Zee Ashley Key and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Trusdale of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by sisters, Lilly Draughn, Opal Hodges, Ruth Haney and Olene Harris and a brother, Odell Harris. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Wayne Sheets. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice Home at 202 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
