Mr. Joseph Elijah Wimbush

Mr. Joseph Elijah Wimbush, age 57 of Stuart, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on December 19, 1956 to the late Lester and Nannie Conner Wimbush. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wimbush was preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis, Alfred, Warren and Bernard Wimbush; two sisters, Annie Hairston and Barbara Foddrell.
Mr. Wimbush is survived by two step-daughters, Kimberly Pruitt of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Lindy Penn of Eden, North Carolina; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Junior and Avis Wimbush of Woolwine, James L. and Violet Wimbush of Collinsville, Clifford and Rosie Mary Wimbush of Martinsville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and James Wells of Stuart, Virginia A. and Kenneth Hairston of Martinsville; a host of nieces & nephews; and a companion, Margie Linster of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mr. Wimbush will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2:00pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with his brother, Rev. Junior Wimbush officiating. Burial will follow in the Wimbush Family Cemetery on Pilson Sawmill Road. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
