Mr. Kenneth Gray Atkins

Mr. Kenneth Gray Atkins, 67, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County on July 27, 1946 to the late Henry Deanmon and Alma Whitt Atkins. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Katherine Wall Atkins, of the home; two daughters, Angela Renee Pierce of Boonville and Misty Dawn Atkins, of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Carolyn Atkins of Moyock; three beloved grandsons, Jacob Dakota Cave, Andrew Gray Atkins, and Matthew
Grayson Campbell; two sisters and a brother-inlaw, Ila and Mark White of Eden and Faye Sawyers of Mount Airy; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Crystal Atkins, Jimmy Atkins, Paul Atkins, all of Dobson, Bill and Carol Atkins, of Arizona, and Jay Atkins, of Eden. In addition to his parents, Mr. Atkins was
preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ray Atkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Redeeming Grace Baptist Church by Bro. Junior Wall and the Rev. Keith Jones with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at Moody-Davis funeral Home where his will remain until time to be carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to his wife Catherine Atkins 300 Shamrock Terrace Lane Apt. 308 Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Forsyth Medical Center, ICU for their loving and compassionate care.
