Mr. Kenneth Cecil Hawks

Mr. Kenneth Hawks, 76, of Cana, VA passed away Sunday July 19, 2015 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Mr. Hawks was born July 28, 1938 in Carroll County, VA to the late Porter and Ila Edith Jones Hawks. Surviving are one daughter Ronda Hawks of Cana, one son Ricky Hawks of Cana, five grandchildren Stacey Ayers, Brandon Hawks, Justin Hawks, Robby Hawks and Jacob Edwards, great grandchildren Riley Hawks, sister, Shirley King; brother and sister-in-law Gary and Joan Crotts; a special sister-in-law, Ann Vernon Surratt. Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Hawks; his parents, Porter Hawks and Ila Edith Jones Hawks Crotts; a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Donald McMillian and a brother, Stanley Hawks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 to assist with the funeral expenses.
