Mr. Kenneth H. Lawrence

Mr. Kenneth Henry Lawrence, age 78 of Mt. Airy, passed away, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 Silas Creek Manor. Mr. Lawrence was born in Surry County on July 1, 1935 to Walford Lawrence and Lila Boyd Lawrence Riddle. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy and was retried from Neighbors Stores. Surviving are his devoted wife, Hazel Goins Lawrence; a daughter and son-in-law, Kennett and Terry Young of Ararat, VA; a son, Jeff Lawrence and fiancée Jeannie Talbert of Winston-Salem, a granddaughter, Ashton Young; nieces, Donna Shelton and Anita Hull; a nephew, Jimmy Lawrence and a sister-in-law, Joleen Lawrence. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawrence was preceded in death by a half-sister, Juanita Boyd, by his twin brother, Keith Lawrence and brother, Pete Lawrence. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Rev. Deward Scott. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 PM.
