Mr. Kenneth Franklin Thomas

Mr. Kenneth Franklin Thomas, 73 of Mt. Airy passed away at Northern Hospital of Surry County Monday, March 17, 2014. He was born in Surry County on September 8, 1940 to the late George Ellis Thomas and Trusty Emmaline Bryant Thomas. Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during 1964 and 1965. He retired from Westinghouse and was of the Baptist Faith. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kaye Niston Thomas and a son, Kenneth Lee Thomas. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Trusty Geneva Thomas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Ivy Green Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Thomas and Rev. Gary Niston officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Moody Funeral Services, PO Box 1288, Mt. Airy to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
