Mr. "L. P." Linwood Posie Conner

Mr. "L. P." Linwood Posie Conner, Jr. age 64 of Stuart passed away at his home on February 14, 2014. He was born in Patrick County on August 14, 1949. He was preceded in death by his father, Linwood Posie Conner, and a brother, Rodney Michael Conner. Mr. Conner worked for 45 years for Hanes Brand in Woolwine, and served in the U.S. Army. He was a devoted, loving husband, who was especially proud of his two sons and being a papa to his grandson.
Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Roberson Conner of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Allen Conner and Teresa of Stuart and Shawn Michael Conner of Stuart; a grandson, Mason Allen Conner; his mother, Dorris Craig Conner of Bassett; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce DeHart and Eugene of Woolwine, Margaret Blankenship and Estel of Bassett and Cheryl Haley of Axton; a brother, Grover "Chicken" Conner of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Conner will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 2:00pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorial donations may be made to the Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O.
