Mr. Larry Lewis Burnette

Mr. Larry Lewis"Ducky" Burnette, age 63 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014. He was born in Patrick County on July 6, 1951 to the late Early Lee Burnette and Effie Rosie Ruth Pendleton Burnette. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burnette was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ann Burnette; two sisters, Lucille Burnette and Clara Burnette and two brothers, Harold Burnette and Arnold Burnette.
Mr. Burnette is survived by his wife, Karen Haas Burnette of the home; two sons, Cody Burnette of the home and Louis Bowman of West Virginia; two grandchildren, Ashley Bowman and Asia Bowman; one great-granddaughter, Emmalynn Nester, who was called "Stinky" by her Papa; five sisters, Bernice Doran of Avon Lake, Ohio, Charlotte White of Roanoke; Launia Hawks of Mount Airy, North Carolina, Ilene McGrady of Laurel Fork and Crystal Quesenberry of Laurel Fork; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Donnie and Mandy Nester, Michael McGrady, Becky and Jeff Shelor, and Ma Patsi for all the love and kindness shown during Larry's illness.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Mayberry Presbyterian Church with Terry Keffer officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
