Mr. Lawrence Charles Truskolaski

Mr. Lawrence Charles Truskolaski, age 66, of Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz hospice home in Dobson. He was born January 14, 1951 to the late Donald and Anne DeNardo Truskolaski. Larry proudly served in the United States Army being stationed in Europe during Vietnam. He worked as a Commercial Sales Manager for PPG Industries for 32 years and retired in 2015. After retirement, Larry and his wife became co-owners of Spotted Moon, a specialty gift shop in downtown Mount Airy. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Martha Gibson Truskolaski of the home; three children, Tonya Beausejour, Shannon Truskolaski, and Anthony Truskolaski; three stepchildren, Stacie Williams and husband Craig, Jeffrey Luedecke and wife Olivia, Stephanie Biggerstaff and husband Perry; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; special aunt and uncle, Delphine and Terry Connelly. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother Donald Steven Truskolaski, and his paternal grandmother, Josephine Truskolaski, who raised him in Wyandotte, MI. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Oct. 16th at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with services conducted by Father Lawrence W. Heiney. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with military honors by VFW post #9436 of Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, Oct 15th, from 6-8 PM at Moody Funeral home in Mount Airy. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for their in-home care and the care received at Joan and Howard Woltz hospice. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
