Mr. Lee Roy Howell

Mr. Lee Roy Howell, age 70 of Stuart passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on November 12, 1943 to the late James Thomas Howell and Nellie Mae Handy Howell Swaney. In addition to his parents, Mr. Howell was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel Chester Howell, Cleo Howell and Lonnie Howell; and three sisters, Dorothy Horton, Crystal Ogle and Erlene Boyd. Lee Roy received Jesus in his heart on July 11, 2014.
Mr. Howell is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Annabel Hylton Howell of the home; five children, James Lee Howell, Mary Angela Howell and Jennifer Lee Howell, all of Xenia, Ohio, Angie Booth of Meadows of Dan and Lonnie Lee Howell of Stuart; thirteen grandchildren, four who visited very often, Jacob Lee Howell, Travis Howell, Gracie Howell and Nicholas Ryan; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Farquer of Dry Pond, Cathy Wagoner of Patrick Springs and Helen Swaney of Black Mountain, North Carolina; two special friends of the family, Lorraine Tatum of Stuart and Brenda Howell of Xenia, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and his little dog, Spud.
A graveside service for Mr. Howell will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Howell Bottom Cemetery with Minister Tony Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart at 1:00 p.m. until time to proceed to the cemetery, and at other times at the home.
