Mr. Lee Ray Mabe

Mr. Lee Ray Mabe, age 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Mabe was born in Carroll County on March 3, 1938, to John Henry and Emma Hanks Mabe. He proudly served our country in the United States Army Reserve. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be so dearly missed by all his family and many friends. Surviving is his devoted wife, Irene Warf Mabe; a daughter, Judy Moore; a son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Courtney Mabe; grandchildren, Amy Thompson and husband, Joe, Alli Mabe, Kendall Mabe and Bella Mabe; great grandbabies, Abigail, Haley and Zack Thompson; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Wayne Stewart and a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Linda Mabe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mabe was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Ruth Shupe and brothers, J. C. Mabe and Bobby Mabe. A memorial service will be held at Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Terry Johnson and Joe Thompson.
