Mr. Lendon "Brent" Watson

Mr. Lendon "Brent" Watson, age 67 of Stuart, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home. He was born in Surry County, North Carolina on April 1, 1947, and was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Oneita Hill Watson. He was a member of Westfield Baptist Church, and had been the owner/operator of Stuart Glass for over 30 years. Mr. Watson enjoyed helping others and didn't know a stranger. He was a friend to all. He was a big man with a big heart and adored his grandbabies who called him "Papa Brent".
Mr. Watson is survived by one son, Doyle Watson and wife, Stacey of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; two daughters, Jennifer Watson King and husband, Benny of Stuart; Stephanie J. Watson and fiancé, Steve Seigler of Mount Airy, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Levi Watson, Lukah Watson and London Watson; his father, Clayton S. Watson and companion, Margot D. Sams, of Mount Airy; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey "Vann" and Crystal Watson of Yadkinville, North Carolina; the mother of his children, Sylvia Martin Hill of Mount Airy; and family friend, Donna Thomas of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Ricky Rodgers and Pastor Billy Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Cpl. Jonathan W. Bowling Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1433 Woolwine Hwy., Stuart, Virginia 24171.
