Mr. Leon Martin

Mr. Leon Martin, 78, of Pilot Mountain, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born July 10, 1938, in Surry County, NC to the late Richard and Ida Mae Gammons Martin. Mr. Martin was a farmer. He is survived by a sister, Sybil Martin Callahan of Pilot Mountain; a niece, Juna and husband Rev. Alan Easter of Pilot Mountain; a great niece, Hope Easter of Pilot Mountain; a great nephew, Matthew Easter of pilot Mountain. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Junior Callahan. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Harmon, Rev. Tommy Floyd, and Rev. Alan Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral home in Mt. Airy.
