Mr. Lester Donald "Don" Hawks

Mr. Lester Donald "Don" Hawks, 70, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Forsyth County on October 23, 1944 to the late Alfred Troy and Mayme Irene Stantliff Hawks. Mr. Hawks was retired from Renfro and of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Hawks; twin daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Kenneth Donathan and Karen Woods; grandchildren, Ashley, Margaret, Permelia, and Cody Donathan and Jonathan Woods; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Glenn Collins, Jessie Eaton, Shirley and Rev. Charlie Hawks; a special niece, Princess Pack; a special great niece, Chloe Ann and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Stoneman, Mary "Jennie" Bobbitt; and two brothers, Ralph and Ray Hawks. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Hawks Family Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Hawks sister, Pat Collins immediately following the service. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy will be assisting the Hawks Family.
