Mr. Loman "Chester" Edwards

Mr. Loman "Chester" Edwards, 70, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Carroll County on July 18, 1945 to the late William and Nellie May King Edwards. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ollis and Susan Hawks of Cana, VA; grandchildren, Kalena Tate of Cana, VA, Matrisha Gwynn of Ararat, VA, Amanda McGuire of Mt. Airy, Vicky Hale of Cana, VA, and Kevin Hawks of Galax, VA; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Foster of Dobson; special great nephew and wife, Marcus and Ester Wilson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Loman was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hawks Edwards; sisters, Lettie Combs, Faye Tate, and Lucille Tate; brothers, Robert and James Edwards. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Edwards Family Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Osborne officiating.
