Mr. Louis James Anthony

Mr. Louis James Anthony, 75, of Mt. Airy passed away at Northern Hospital of Surry County on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He was born in Surry County on June 3, 1938 to the late Dewitt Anthony and Nora Collins Anthony. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Company. He is survived by two daughter, Lois and Aaron Akers of Catawba, Doris Snow and friend, Robbie McCarther of Charlotte; two sons, Robert and James Anthony of Lowgap; nine grandchildren, Lee Akers, Tabathia Anthony, William Anthony, Chris Anthony, Tesea Brierley, Mike Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Clayton Wilson and Melissa Dowell and twelve great grandchildren. Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Goins Anthony; his parents, Dewitt Anthony and Nora Collins Anthony O'Neal; a daughter, Brenda Wilson; two sisters, Beulah Moser and Ruth Collins and a brother, Thomas Andrew Anthony. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 5:00 until 6:00 PM. There will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr., S99, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
