Mr. Marvin "Dale" Hawks

"Heaven gained a beautiful bearded angel" when Mr. Marvin "Dale" Hawks, age 59 of Ararat, VA, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hawks was born in Surry County on January 16, 1956 to Clinton Hawks and the late Myrtle Belle East Hawks. He was deeply loved and admired not only by his family and friends, but by his entire community as well. He will be dearly missed. Surviving is his devoted wife, Margaret Bowman Hawks; daughters, Kristine "Kristy" Amanda Hawks, Rosemary "Jeanette" Hawks and "Rebecca" Dale Hawks; his father, Clinton Hawks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Joe Meadows and Judy and Michael Grove; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wade and Linda Hawks, Carl Hawks and fiancé Kathy Little and Jamie and Kristy Hawks; special friends, Tony Martin and Dale Wright; several nieces and nephews and many other special friends. Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Belle East Hawks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Crotts and Eulogy by Scott Sutton. Burial will follow in the Hawks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
