Mr. Marvin Gray Rorrer

Mr. Marvin Gray Rorrer, age 80 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on August 4, 1931 to the late Coy Allen Rorrer and Maude Belcher Rorrer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rorrer was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Paunee Rorrer, and two brothers, William Allen Rorrer and Melvin Clay Rorrer. He was a member of Conner's View Primitive Baptist Church, and had retired from Liberty Fabrics.
Mr. Rorrer is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Janet Rorrer, Ronald and Pamela Rorrer, all of Stuart; three grandsons, Matthew, Ryan and Wesley Rorrer; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Nolan, Ethan and Haley Rorrer, Zachary Tickle and James Hubbard; two brothers, Donnie Rorrer of Woolwine and Bernice Rorrer of Bassett; four sisters, Delcie Belcher of Woolwine, Evadell Lyon of Woolwine, Hollis Fain of Patrick Springs and Linda Fain of Patrick Springs; special caretaker, Debbie Corns; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Edward Bowman and Elder LaRay Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Mike and Janet Rorrer, 539 Dominion Valley Road, Stuart, Virginia. Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens.
