Mr. Mitchel Preston Simpson

Mr. Mitchel Preston Simpson, age 73, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away on Friday morning at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Surry Co. on April 28, 1942 to the late James Simpson and the late Annie Tucker Simpson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Linda East Simpson. He was a member of Stony Knoll United Methodist Church, and was a retired Electrician and worked for IBEW Union, and was a member of the Copeland Masonic Lodge 390 A.F. & A.M. Surviving is his wife Kathy Gordon Collins Simpson of the home; three sons and daughters in-law Michael and Tracy Simpson of Mt. Airy, Stephen and Brooke Simpson of Dobson, Joe and Amber Simpson of Columbia City, IN; one step son and daughter-in-law Johnny and Angela Collins of Dobson; eight grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law Ronnie and Maggie Simpson of Kernersville, Curtis and Linda Simpson of Dobson. A Special friend H.C. Mooney of Dobson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 27, 2015 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Stony Knoll United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Lawton will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Stony Knoll United Methodist Church cemetery fund or to the Church Building fund, c/o Kay Crouse 105 Stratford Place Dobson, NC 27017 or to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Rd.
