Mr. Mont Osborn Galyean, 79, of Lowgap passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on August 7, 1934 to the late Randle and Nina Galyean Galyean. Mr. Galyean was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Grayson and Joseph Cockerham of Lowgap; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Galyean was preceded in death by three sisters, Lena Brown, Ray Phelps, and June Galyean; five brothers, Wayne, Kermit, Buford, Bill, and Hope Galyean. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 PM until time of the service at Liberty Baptist Church. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, and special care givers for the love and care given to Mont during his illness.
