Mr. Montague Puckett

Mr. Montague Puckett, 78, of Ararat, VA passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Patrick County on August 8, 1935 to the late Dunkley Woolwine and Gladys Quesinberry Puckett. Mr. Puckett served in the US Army during the late 50's. Mr. Puckett retired as co-owner of Puckett Greenhouses, LLC in Ararat, VA but he continued to do car restorations and farm. Mr. Puckett is survived by his wife, Juanita White Puckett of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Monty Dean and Ginger Puckett of Mt. Airy, Dale and Debera Puckett of Ararat; five grandchildren, Ashley Sutphin and husband, Scott, Amy Puckett, Amber Puckett, Trista Puckett and Allison Puckett; two step grandchildren; five great grandchildren, Lacey Sutphin, Aysia Edwards, Christopher Galvan, Jordan Galvan and Hailey Puckett; four step great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, A.G. and Conelia Puckett of Ararat, VA; two aunts, Pauline Wood and Ila Hall and husband, Ralph; one niece, Teresa P. Marshall and husband, Ronald and one nephew, Keith Puckett and wife, Barbara. Funeral services will be held at Doe Run Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Terry Vaughan and Rev. Homer Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
