Mr. Moses Leonard Durham

Mr. Moses Leonard Durham, age 96, of Elkin, NC, passed away on Saturday morning October 10, 2015 at Elkin Assisted Living. He was born in Stokes County on October 4, 1919 to the late James William Durham and the late Elizabeth Smith Durham. He was a farmer his whole life and in his retirement years he loved to ride around and look at crops. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Versie Gammons Durham; one son Jerry Durham; one granddaughter Vickie Durham; one sister Leila Wilson; four brothers Graham, Ellis, Ledford, and Joe Durham. Surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Bonita Durham of Elkin, Carl and Sue Durham of West End, NC; daughter-in-law Joan Durham of Elkin; four grandchildren Chip and Becky Durham, Jonathan Durham, Nathan and Kawanta Durham, Dean and Page Durham; five great-grandchildren Jordan Durham, Madison Durham, Hayley Durham, Garrett Durham and Ayanna Durham; sisters Lillie Keaton of West Field, Nolie Boyles of Pilot Mountain, A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday October 12, 2015 at Gum Orchard Baptist Church with burial in the Zephyr Cemetery. Rev. Joe Lambert and Rev. Greg Anderson will conduct the services. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie in state 30 Min. before the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
