Mr. Norris Nixon

Mr. Norris Nixon Age 83 of Mt. Airy, NC. walked into the gates of heaven Thursday July 30, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Mr. Nixon was born January 6, 1931 in Surry County to the late Elwood and Rena Calloway Nixon. Mr. Nixon was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean Conflict, was retired from Pine State Knitting and was a member and deacon of Community Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife Mrs. Barbara Jane Mosley Nixon of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law Randall and Sandra Nixon of Pilot Mountain and Mark and Christina Nixon of Lowgap, two grandchildren Kristen Nixon and Madison Nixon both of Lowgap, one sister Betty Wilson of Winston Salem and by one brother and two sisters-in-law Jimmy and Glenda Nixon and Frances Nixon all of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents Mr. Nixon was preceded in death by a brother Roger Nixon. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Kenneth Jessup and Rev. Don Bell with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens with full military rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post# 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post# 9436. The family will receive friends Friday night 6 to 8 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
