Mr. Paul A. Puckett

Mr. Paul Akers Puckett, age 88 of Stuart, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on October 30, 1926 to the late Bennie Robert "Bob" Puckett and Bessie Goad Puckett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Freeman Puckett; four brothers, Leonard, Bill, Bobby and John Puckett; and a sister, Ruby P. Hall. He was a member of Liberty Primitive Baptist Church, had retired from United Elastic, and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Puckett was one of the first to volunteer with Hospice in Patrick County. He enjoyed delivering food to others and volunteering and helping those who were in need of anything. He was loved by all who knew him, especially his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Puckett is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann and John Pendleton of Stuart, Ruth Clark of the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart; one brother, David Puckett of Stuart; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Puckett, Ruby Mae Puckett and Jenny Puckett, all of Stuart; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his caregivers, Tina Puckett, Doyle Jordan, Linda Fain and Connie Greer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder David Wright and Pastor Dave Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of food or flowers, the family would prefer that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Patrick County Chapter, P. O.
