Mr. Reginald Blaine "Reggie" Venable, Age 67, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, at his home in White Plains, NC. Mr. Venable was born June 19, 1947, in Surry County in the home in which he died; to the late Rex Wayne and Stacy Watson Venable. Reggie was a retired executive from the company he founded with his loyal business partner Jim Ferrell. Reggie loved working with plants and had a great love for music and fishing. One of the important achievements in Reggie's life was supporting twin sisters from Brazil through Elementary School and through Nursing School. He is survived by a son Jason Rex Venable of Raleigh, a stepdaughter Ana Teresa Galizes Benson and her husband Bradley of Raleigh, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Carolyn V. Nichols of White Plains, Wendolyn V. Boyles of Ararat, NC. and Ramona V. and C.R. Sneed of Cherokee; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron W. and Jettie Venable of Salisbury, nieces and nephews Sherry Nichols Brendle, Whitney Sneed, Danny Nichols, Tony Nichols, Blaine Boyles, Byron Boyles and John Venable. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Merle Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 640 Little Mountain Church Rd. Ararat, NC. 27007.
