Mr. Rex Davis Younger

Mr. Rex Davis Younger, 73, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on November 7, 1940 to the late Harrison Seymore and Myrtle East Younger. Mr. Younger retired as manager from the NC Welcome Center. He served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Rex was a great and loving son, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law, Treva Collins of Mt. Airy, Dorothy and Thomas Mills of Winston Salem; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kermit Younger of Walnut Cove, Birchard and Foye Younger, Jim and Janice Younger, Pauline Younger, Patricia Younger, Barbara Younger all of Mt. Airy; nineteen nieces and nephews, twenty seven great nieces and nephews, and twenty two great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Younger was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Younger; brothers, Randolph Younger, Bruce Younger and Pete Younger; a sister-in-law, Clara Younger; a brother-in-law, Raymond Collins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
