Mr. Richard Leon Cockram

Mr. Richard Leon Cockram, age 59, of Bassett, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Henry County on Aug. 18, 1957 to the late Euodias Cockram and Revie Deal Cockram. He was a computer programmer for Bassett Industries and most recently a LPN at Morehead Hospital in Eden, NC.

Surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Randy Wagoner of Bassett, Debra and James Perdue of Bassett, one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Velma Cockram; numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Donnie Reeves of Bassett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Gilmore Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
