Mr. Richard Neal Harrison

Mr. Richard Neal Harrison, age 80, of Elkin, NC passed away on Friday evening September 28, 2012 at Wake Forest University Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. He was born in Elk Horn, West Virginia on October 15, 1931, to the late Garnie Harrison and Edna Lucas Harrison. He was retired from Cross Creek in Mt. Airy, and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Alice Alma Throckmorton Harrison of the home; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Dale Davis of Dobson; step daughter and step son-in-law Doris and Calvin Hawks of Pilot Mtn; step son and step daughter-in-law JW and Carolyn Gilley of Pilot Mtn.; granddaughter Mandy and Travis Holt; grandson Brad Davis; brother Lee Harrison of Texas; sisters-in-law Linda Harrison and Patricia Harrison both of Dobson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Edwin Harrison, Doug Harrison, and Allen Harrison; two sisters Hope Capps, and June Hawks; first wife Betty Moody Harrison. Funeral services will be held 11 :00 A.M. Monday October 1, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bill Watson and Dr. Andy Atkins will conduct the services. The Family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Moody-Davis Funeral is serving the Harrison Family.
