Mr. Robert Lester Clark

Mr. Robert Lester Clark, age 69 of Stuart went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Pioneer Community Hospital. He was born in Patrick County on July 16, 1947 to the late Robert Marion Clark and Sally Agnes Stowe Clark. In addition to his parents Mr. Clark was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Addilynn Grace Hooker. He graduated from Stuart High School in 1965. He had worked in the textile industry for 40 years before becoming disabled. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. One of his greatest joys in life were all of his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Vipperman Clark of the home; one son, Kevin Clark of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Clark and Shannon Leath, both of Stuart, VA; eight grandchildren and three step grandchildren, Brittany Martin (Joshua), Sydney Clark, Emily Clark, Hope Hall (Preston), Holly Hooker (Josh), Cody Wyatt (Tina Holt), Hannah Boyd (Danny), Sara Leath, Austin Leath, Dale Leath (Patti) and Jessica Catron; four great grandchildren; Haven Wyatt, Abigail Hall, Aiden Hooker, Sterling Martin; four step great grandchildren, Mason Leath, Addison Leath, Arianna Catron, and Payton Catron, and one sister, Sally C. Smith (James) of Stuart.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Patrick County Chapter, P.O. Box 3907 Martinsville, Virginia 24115-3907 Breast Cancer Foundation, as Robert was an avid supporter of Breast Cancer Research.
