Mr. Robert Bruce Cooper

Mr. Robert Bruce Cooper age 70 Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Christine Welborn Cooper passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at his home. He was born April 14, 1943 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Arnold and Lavaughn Dyer Cooper. He was a retired truck driver for Lovette Trucking Company and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Purlear, NC. Surviving are his wife, Christine W. Cooper of the home, Two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy Cooper Hester and Alan of Memphis, TN, Brenda Annette Cooper, McGee and Michel of Midway, NC, five grandchildren, Megan, Charlie, Morgan, Zachary and Ana, two great grandchildren, Braden and Luna three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn Yates and Bryant of Purlear, NC, Mary Ellen Shumate of East Bend, NC, Gail Byers and Hurley, Purlear, NC and a brother, David Cooper of Purlear, NC and two half sisters, Tammy Cooper of Pulear, NC and Jenny Brooks of Purlear, NC, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ann Cooper Taverniti and a son, Robert Lee Cooper. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Mr. Kent Shumate and Mr. Zachary McGee.
