Mr. Robert Lee Hensley, Sr

Mr. Robert L. Hensley, 66 of Mt. Airy passed away at his home on Friday, September 25, 2015. He was born in Surry County on January 15, 1949 to the late Willie Francis and Elsie Kirkman Hensley. Mr. Hensley enjoyed his career as a truck driver, and also his time spent as a volunteer fireman. He loved his family and the time he could spend with them. Surviving are his wife, Carol Sue Wright Hensley; sons, Robert Lee “Robbie” Hensley and Stephen Keith Hensley; a special granddaughter, Dakota Rose Hensley; sisters, Nellie Hensley Bowman, Ruth Hensley Woods, Anne Juanita Hensley and Sarah Elizabeth Hamm and husband, Larry; a brother, John Walter Hensley and a sister-in-law, Stella Hensley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by a son, Barry Dean Hensley and a brother, Eugene “Gene” Hensley. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. There will be a private memorial at a later date.
