Mr. Robert Eugene Laws, age 66, of Elkin, NC passed away on Thursday evening April 17, 2014 at Salisbury VA Medical Center. He was born on October 16, 1947 to the late Robert Bob Laws and to Mattie Virginia Hall Laws. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one daughter Bridget Renea Laws Tickel; one brother Ralph Boyd Laws. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was a self employed Carpenter. Surviving is one son Jason Laws of Low Gap, NC; one grandchild Christopher Neil Tickle, and one granddaughter on the way Gena Annalee Laws; his mother Virginia Hall Laws of Elkin; sisters and brother-in-law Sue Childress, of Elkin, Linda and Michael Soderburg of Taylorsville, NC; brothers and sister-in-law Edward Glenn Laws of Dobson, Paul Allen and Hilda Laws of Dobson, Bruce C. Laws of Elkin, Jerry M. Laws of Duncan Ok; special friends June Sweaney of Marlow, Ok, Danny Brooks of Dobson.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. in the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC on Tuesday April 22, 2014 with Military Honors by Fort Bragg Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Monday evening from 7PM until 9PM.
