Roby Quesinberry departed this world for his heavenly home on April 2, at the Woltz Hospice Home. He was born on April 6, 1920 to Fred Banner and Lottie Belle Hall Quesinberry on Orchard Street in Mount Airy, NC. He married Retha Mae Woodruff on September 7, 1946. They had two children, Amelia (Mimi) Quesinberry Patterson and Rodney Trent Quesinberry. Roby had two granddaughters, Jennifer (Patterson) and Charlie Mickey of Winston-Salem and Julie (Patterson) and Chad Landen of Greensboro, and four great granddaughters, Taylor Elizabeth Landen, Zoe Alexis Landen, Addison Grace Mickey and Ada Gray Mickey which were the joys of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Rodney Trent and his brother Owen Quesinberry. Roby served in WWII, 3rd Armored (Spearhead Division) in Europe and fought in D Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a volunteer fireman with the Mount Airy Fire Department for 21 years. He retired from Surry Yadkin Electric Membership Corp. Roby was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars- Claude E Hooker Post 2019 for over 70 years. He was very active and the oldest regularly attending male member of Highland Park Baptist Church. His service of celebration at Highland Park Baptist Church will be held on Monday, April 6, at 2PM with visitation in the church sanctuary from 1 to 2PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Highland Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 1327 Grove Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
